Greg Foltz M.D., founder of the Pacific Northwest Brain Tumor Alliance and Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment at Swedish Hospital was invited to speak before the Everett Rotary Club. Greg is on staff at both the Providence Everett Medical Center and the Swedish Medical Center.
In the last three years, “Partnering” has created a relatively new relationship or “Model” between the Providence Everett Medical Center and the Swedish Neuroscience Institute located in the old Providence Hospital building in Seattle.
Some of the key players in the “Partnering” process have included Dave Brooks, CEO of Providence Everett Medical Center and his team; Marc Mayberg and David Newell, for many years professor’s of neurological surgery at the University of Washington and currently the Co-Directors of the Swedish Neurological Institute; as well as the Administrator of the Swedish Medical Center Cherry Hill Campus and Swedish Neuroscience Institute, Marcel Loh. Marcel is a past member of Rotary International and a Harris Fellow.
The Center for Advanced Brain Tumor Treatment recently became the “centerpiece” for the Annual Swedish Medical Center Fundraiser. The event that took place at the Sheraton Hotel less than two months ago was attended by 1000 guests. At this banquet $4.2 million dollars was raised to help fight brain cancer. This was probably the single, largest fund raising event in the history of Swedish Hospital.
Greg was asked to give the Everett Rotary Club a brief summary of the keynote presentation that he gave for the Annual Swedish Foundation Fundraiser. The purpose of re-presenting this matter before the Everett Rotary Club was to show that through the process of “Partnering” between the Providence Everett Medical Center and the Swedish Neuroscience Institute, “World Class Care Without Leaving Our Community” is truly available in Everett.
